Quick App Tip #5: FL Studio Mobile: Pitch-Bending Secret

I always felt that using the accelerometer for pitch bending wouldn’t be a very accurate option… But if you set your iPhone on a flat table, and use one hand to play and the other to tilt, it works fairly well. Unfortunately, there is no correcting your mistakes; you can’t edit the pitch-bend like in NanoStudio. Hopefully this will be added soon…

Those problems have been solved. An update will be available within a week. If you have already done the update, we advise you to run your iPhone in English. Otherwise, please don’t update and wait for the next 1.1.1 version. Thank you for understanding.

NanoStudio for Live Use: Quickly and Easily Switch Between Instruments without even Touching Your iPhone

NanoStudio has 6 instrument tracks (including a mixer) available by default, and 16 available for $4.99 as an in-app purchase (find out how many tracks your iDevice can handel here). NanoStudio is great for using live because every track is assigned to a MIDI channel. This means that by switching MIDI channels on your controller, you can change instruments quickly, without even touching your iPhone! Great for live performances…
Show this menu from almost anywhere in the app by
tapping the button at the far left of the top toolbar.
By default, the following tracks are assigned to the following MIDI channels:
MIDI Channel Track Name Track Number
16 Mixer -
1 TRG 1
2 Eden 1 2
3 Eden 2 3
4 Eden 3 4
5 Eden 4 5

Track names can be renamed, and made either drum machine or piano tracks from the menu that appears when track buttons (the ones in the picture above) are held down. From the same menu, the MIDI channel assigned to each track can be changed. To set up NanoStudio for use in a live setting, assign each instrument (and its effects) you want to use to a MIDI channel and use your controller to quickly switch between them while preforming!

[New Pictures] i-MX1 MIDI DIN Interface for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad Product Overview

Product Overview:

i-MX1 is a MIDI interface cable which enables an iPad / iPhone to be connected to any MIDI instrument. There is no difficult setup, simply connect the  i-MX1to the  iPad / iPhone and a MIDI instrument such as synthesizer, electronic drum kit, or digital piano and use any Core MIDI compliant iOS app.  For example, you can play the virtual instruments in Garage Band for iPAD using a MIDI keyboard or electronic drum kit.
There are dedicated applications (Voice, Performance and Multi editors) for Yamaha synthesizers (Motif XS/XF, S90XS, MOX) which will expand the functions of your instrument. Yamaha also has created a number of unique Core MIDI compliant apps which work with any MIDI instrument.  The Faders & XY Pad MIDI Control application controls your synthesizer’s sounds by sending MIDI control change messages from the iPad. Keyboard Arp & Drum Pad is an application that transmits notes to the synthesizer. Set List lets you create a set list with detailed note and MIDI program changes and volume settings program changes for up to 5 MIDI devices on 5 different channels.  By combining the unique interface of your iPad / iPhone with your MIDI instruments, you can create a professional mobile music that’s both fun and creative.
