Quick App Tip #20: Display bar (measure) lines in the BeatMaker 2 audio editor

In this tutorial I’ll show you how to display bar lines in the BeatMaker 2 audio editor. When you bring audio into the app, it needs to be saved with BPM info, closed and then re-opened in order to see the bar lines. Open up an audio file in the audio editor by double tapping on it from the sequencer screen, *or* opening it from the audio editor menu:

As you can see, when ‘Bars’ is selected there are no measure lines, yet…

You need to know what BPM the recording is at. Click on the ‘BPM Not Set’ button in the bottom left:

From here, use the ‘Tap Or Slide’ tool at the bottom of the screen to input the recording’s BPM. Notice how this doesn’t speed up or slow down the recording, it just adjusts the bar lines. After you’ve input the BMP, tap done, and click on the X in the upper left corner to save and close the file. Open it back up and it’ll have the measure lines!

The audio editor also has a “Save As…” option from the file menu in the upper left if you need one…

*The audio editor the opens when you double tap an audio region in the sequencer has the ‘Bounds’ and ‘Samples’ edit modes, the one that opens from the home menu has the ‘Loop Markers,’ ‘Chop Markers’ and ‘Samples’ edit modes.*
