Coming soon: LiveFX – An Audiobus enabled effects app [videos]

A few months ago, before the Audiobus launch, the idea of live audio manipulation apps being used with other apps through Audiobus started floating around. An upcoming app called LiveFX looks to be of this ‘app breed,’ among others…

See the four different effects toggles in the in-app connection pannel? Cool, huh?

Update: See the LiveFX page on Elephantcandy’s site for more info:

Any audio source can be processed; the build in iTunes player, a DJ set, a mixing board, an instrument, vocals and (with Audiobus) any other audio app. Create your own combination of audio effects, and simultaneously control up to four effects using a single fingertip or use multi touch for auto dynamic sound effects. Make music with features that truly stand out from the crowd. Introducing LiveFX for iPad; it’s sound control evolved to a whole new level.

It’s not shown in the filter slot of the connection panel in the video, but hopefully that’ll be possible.

The app is being developed by Elephantcandy (@elephantcandy), who make EQu, Radio EQu, Vinyl, and PerfectTune.

Looks very nice…but….as an iPhone producer i’m again “scared” that such an app will be ipad exclusive as many others : (

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 3 Thumb down 5

The comment section of the first video indicates it will be available for iphone but i don’t know if that’s on release or not.

Will we be able to process live audio from an external source?

seems interesting but i havent seen anything talking about recording , and videos dosent show anything about it too . if there is no recording in the app itself , that app will just be useless . or maybe just for live jaming … but well i think it have much more potential than that . i hope they will include a record option .

When used with Audiobus, recording would happen with another app. I believe a lot of the point of an app like this is NOT to be an all-in-one approach, but a modular one.

i hope so too , but in the video the app is an output in audiobus , not an effect , so you cant record it with another app within adiobus .

moreover i dont understand hy they setted it up as an output in audiobus insteda of effect . if it was available as an effect , it could be recorded with another app setted as output in audiobus . but as its on output , i dont see how we can reccord with it . ( sorry , english is ot my 1st language but im working on it lol hope u understood me ;)

To be honest I find it hard to understand people trying to make music on their phones. I mean, it is possible but the screen size just makes it soooo restrictive. Flipping through menu pages would just drive me mad. Synthstation app use to be iPhone only and it was a real pain to edit parameters. I find iPad just about acceptable size wise. Yo

Hardcore musicians spit out whole albums from their iphones… while driving.

I ope it does have recording, it would suck if I had to us freakin audiobus and another app just to record and process some samples with fx, if this thing is not about mangling static samples as well as live audio I will be extremely peeved!!! Do you hear that elephant candy???
