We “can expect a pretty extensive MIDI implementation in Auria when we’re done.”

Nice.

Features Coming to Animoog

I got a reply from Moog a while ago but forgot to post it, I asked about preset ‘Open In…’ from other app (like Mail or Dropbox) and got

We had not been considering this, but after mentioning it to our firmware engineer, he has placed it on his “to add” list. Hopefully, we can incorporate it into a future update.

Also asked “do you guys have plans for next/previous preset buttons? When I downloaded a preset pack from the IAP store, it was kind of bothersome to have to open the menu each time i wanted to go to the next preset” They replied

This is definitely something we are hoping to implement soon. Currently, the Animoog can handle most MIDI CC messages, but not program change messages. Once we add this feature, users should be able to scroll through presets much easier (and without covering the keyboard with a menu). Thanks for the feedback!

BeatMaker 2 v2.4 update audio sends clarification

Intua posted the BeatMaker 2 v2.4 feature list a few weeks ago on their forum, one of the features being “Four audio sends available per mixer tracks”. I found this reply from Intua on the thread clarifying exactly what “audio sends” means:

Excellent news!

What’s coming next from Notion Music…

I shot the developers of the super fantastic Notion notation app for iPad an email regarding Core MIDI support in Notion, and plans for an iPhone version. Here’s what they had to say:

We just got finished with our desktop version of Notion 4 and plan on releasing it October 31st of this year. After that we are going to move our attention to the iPad app and hope to be adding core MIDI support as well as dozens of new features over the next couple of months. After that, we are talking about doing an app/s for the iPhone. We are very excited about things to come in Notion.

Which app is Boulanger Labs working on next

The makers of the famous csGrain app for iPad have quite a few apps in the coming soon section of their products page, the developer has let me know what one to expect next:

Sean: Hi Boulanger labs! I was wondering if you guys had any progress updates on future apps, I noticed the coming soon section of your products page and just couldn’t help but ask!

Boulanger Labs: Our next app, csSpectral, will be released in the coming months and Csound Touch will follow soon after.

So there you have it, csSpectral, a “vocoding, convolution, and spectral processing app,” will be the next.

What’s coming in Glitchbreaks v1.04 for iPhone and iPad

20120801-191900.jpg

GlitchBreaks developer Alex (AKA @Distraub) has shared some development progress with me on the v1.04 update:

Alex:

“Glitchbreaks development is going well, fighting off some bugs I created with Preset Saving and Loading, but so far 1.04 features are :

Preset Save and Load
Background Tracks (Looping)
Tightened Timing

I will be putting in that feature you requested to lock in the Glitch location, so Dynamic Glitch (on/off)

I really ended up spending a lot more time getting the timing a lot better than I expected, but once this is out, I will be ready for MIDI.

Oh I forgot to add, I am looking at another feature to add.
Since there are still ways you can throw timing off, with pitch, half time, quarter time, and if you have quantize off, you can throw it off with re-trigger, so I was thinking of a hold gesture on the pitch reset button to snap the timing back on, on the next downbeat.”

As always, I can’t wait!
