BeatMaker 2 v2.4 update audio sends clarification

Intua posted the BeatMaker 2 v2.4 feature list a few weeks ago on their forum, one of the features being “Four audio sends available per mixer tracks”. I found this reply from Intua on the thread clarifying exactly what “audio sends” means:

Excellent news!

Quick App Tip #21: Selecting quantized lengths of audio in the BeatMaker 2 audio editor

If the file you’re editing doesn’t display bar lines when bars is selected, follow this tutorial first.

The only way I know how to do this is by zooming all the way in until you can’t anymore, at which point you’ll be able to see the selection move bit by bit…

Apps that might come post Audiobus

In this Synthtopia interview with Sebastian Dittmann and Discchord, Sebastian shared thoughts of a new kind of app that we might start seeing after the launch…

“As for other applications to expect: I think it’s impossible to tell what people might come up with, but one example for a new app that can only exist after Audiobus has been launched would be an effects app that only does that: add effects to a live audio stream. It would not need to have additional input or output options, and developers would not have to bother with file management or add all sorts of settings and configuration options as they would have before Audiobus.” – Sebastian Dittmann

Apps with the sole purpose of live audio manipulation could be great companions for Audiobus! You’re messing around with some synthesizer and want to add some live, outside effects to the output – Filtatron and Animoog being a perfect example considering the news. We will probably start seeing all kinds of new effects apps pop up with Audiobus support made just for live audio manipulation. It’d be like adding guitar pedals in between your electric guitar and amp… genious! The interview continues discussing how Audiobus will change ‘iOS sandboxing’ and even reveals a price range! Well worth the read, check it out here.
