(Coming Soon) Write Music on your iPad… Literally

Update: The project is now on KickStarter!

ThinkMusic Technology is currently developing a notation app for the iPad that will allow you to use styluses like the Acase EZswipe or Adonit Jot to write musical notation on your iPad! It’s ideas like this one that really make you stop and think about how devices like the iPad are changing musicians’ lives. Someone who isn’t fond of or familiar with music notations software could really benefit from something like this!

The developers have an announcement for next week so stay tuned!

Notion for iPad is still $6.99 from $14.99

A reminder that Notion for iPad is still $6.99.

Notion for iPad big price drop

I don’t think I’ve ever seen this one drop price, so if you’ve been waiting for a sale, you might not see another for a while. This is the only notation editor I own for iOS so I can’t really compare it to the others, but I am very satisfied with it.

New Notion notation (iPad) editor video demos

Notion is a pretty solid notation editor for the iPad. It supports MusicXML, Guitar Pro, MIDI files, and can export as MIDI, XML file, or PDF. The developers have uploaded some new videos demoing some of it’s features…

NOTION iPad – Score Creation

NOTION for iPad – Note Entry

The app is priced at $14.99 which I think is pretty fair for a notation editor of this functionality.
